Abstract: Minnesota's most expensive property is a waterfront home with 360-degree views of Lake Minnetonka.

The 9,016 square foot mansion, located at the end of a peninsula in Woodland, Minnesota, is listed for $14.75 million.

"It's a stunning piece of property with nearly 1,700 feet of lakefront, which is very unique," said Jim Schwartz, listing agent for Sotheby's International Realty in Lakeland." The views from every room of the home are absolutely spectacular. You sometimes feel like you're on a cruise ship. The water is very close to the house, which is not typical."

Schwarz was present during the construction, which was completed in 2016.

"I met the owners in 2014 and ended up finding the property for them," he says." They tore down an old house and built this beautiful home within a few years."

The house has five bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms. There is a master bedroom on the main floor, while a second master suite and three other bedrooms are located upstairs. The great room has two levels with a double barrel, vaulted ceilings and French doors.

The home has two kitchens - a main cooking space and a dining or prep kitchen.

"The mess is all in one kitchen, and then you have a big entertaining kitchen," Schwartz said, noting that the kitchen was a finalist in the 2017 Global Sub-Zero Wolf Kitchen Design Competition.

For entertaining, the home has a theatre, golf simulator, wine room and 2,500-square-foot garage.

The owners designed the house to have an indoor-outdoor feel, with plenty of glass doors on the main level and several balconies on the upper level.

"The whole property is wrapped in a terrace or porch ...... If it's a bit windy on one side, you can walk right out to the other side."

At the end of the 2.8-acre lot - hidden in the trees - is a replica of a lighthouse, modelled after one in Nova Scotia.

The property also boasts the largest residential flagpole in Minnesota, according to the homeowner.

"It was on the property when my clients bought it, and they thought it was a really unique and cool feature, so they kept it," Schwartz explained." For those who paddle on Lake Minnetonka, it's just an iconic property.

If you see a huge American flag flying from a boat, you know it's Cedar Point because that flag has been flying there for many, many years."

Schwartz said there is a lot of interest in the listing.

"For people looking for something special at this level," he says, "it ticks a lot of boxes." It's very classic and very well done. Even though it is a large luxury home, it feels very comfortable."
